The young Cuffe Paradian, has a rich and blessed history to fall back on, with the responsibility to carry the legacy forward from famous writers, musicians, painters, and some of the biggest industrialists that India has had the honor of birthing. Our residents make us feel privileged and aspire to achieve the highest possible goals.

About CPRA

Cuffe Parade Residents Association (CPRA) was established in the year 1971 by farsighted residents of Cuffe Parade to resolve the common problems of the locality. As more and more members joined CPRA in the years to follow, the CPRA became a potent organ as it worked to protect its member’s interests. In 1976, CPRA was registered under the Societies Registration Act to function more effectively for its aims and objectives.

The aims and objectives of CPRA include the social welfare and civic improvement of the facilities for the residents of the Cuffe Parade locality, specifically a clean and healthy locality with the best possible civic amenities, public parks, gardens, open spaces, playgrounds, club gymnasium, schools, libraries, reading rooms, roads, drainage, sewerage, street lighting, police protection, shopping centers, car parks and proper security and the like and for such purposes. CPRA works towards addressing issues relating to addressing nuisance, cleanliness, encroachment, traffic control, protection against loss by fire and socially undesirable elements. CPRA endeavors to have an effective voice in the development of the entire Cuffe Parade area so that adequate arrangements are available by way of proper town-planning, laying of public roads, underground tube-railways, green belts, gardens, recreation grounds, provision for adequate water and electric supply, prevention of pollution and to provide legal aid and advice when possible to the residents who have grievances to redress with the governmental and semi-governmental authorities.

For these purposes, CPRA approaches the Government and semi-Government authorities like the Collector of Mumbai, Commissioner of Police, Municipal Commissioner and spends the funds at its disposal for the general welfare, uplifting and well-being of the public at large and particularly the residents of the Cuffe Parade locality. CPRA’s volunteering members also keep the neighborhood connected through its fellowship events; celebrating festivals, achievements, launches & performances. The management and control of CPRA is vested in the Trustees and assisted by the elected, co-opted, selected and nominated members of CPRA Executive Committee members.
